About Us

Art should be able to be seen by, and be created by, all people.

Welcome to Macedon Ranges Accessible Arts Inc, we are dedicated to enriching the lives of marginalised community members through the power of art. Our mission is simple: to enhance the lives of marginalised community members through access to art in an accessible manner and to decrease the stigmatisation and discrimination faced by those community members.

Our Vision

At Macedon Ranges Accessible Arts Inc, we firmly believe that art should be accessible to everyone, irrespective of their background or circumstances, but more than that, they deserve to see art depicting their lived experience. Further we are committed to breaking down barriers and reducing the stigmatisation and discrimination faced by individuals in our community, so that everyone can fully participate in and contribute to the vibrant art scene.

Our Commitment

Since our inception in 2022, MRAAI has been dedicated to creating an environment that fosters community, safety, freedom of expression and change within our target communities as well as within the Macedon Ranges' general conscience.

Our Communities

MRAAI understands that one organisation cannot change the entire world or tackle the discrimination and barriers faced by every marginalised community, further we acknowledge the harm “guardian” groups can cause. Therefore we only work with communities that our own members have lived experience with and ensure our projects are created for and by, our target communities. These communities include people who are; Carers, Disabled, Domestic Abuse Survivors, Homeless, LGBTQIA+ and Gender Diverse, Regional Women, Sexual Assault Survivors, as well as those people dealing with Chronic Illness and Mental Health issues.

Our Organisation

Macedon Ranges Accessible Arts Inc. is an all-volunteer registered not-for-profit incorporated organisation based in the Macedon Ranges and working throughout Central Victoria. We are always looking at ways of partnering with other local not-for-profit and community organisations to increase our impact. All members of our board and general members have been selected not only for their passion for making the arts more accessible but for their unique and diverse skills and lived experiences within our target communities.
